EASY DNA^® Kit

The kit is intended for measurement of DNA content and percentual evaluation of cell cycle subpopulations in cells by flow cytometry.

The technique is based upon the assumption that Propidium Iodide binds to DNA in a stoichiometric manner, resulting in a fluorescence intensity distribution directly related to the DNA content within the cell. A characteristic pattern is produced when PI labeled normal cells are measured by flow cytometry, reflecting the cell cycle phases within the cell population.

Both ploidy and S phase fraction may have prognostic significance in certain tumours

EASY DNA^® Kit  contains vials each with pre-weighted and dehydrated Propidium Iodide, RNase, and the reconstitution buffer. The dehydration process, performed under strictly controlled conditions, provides an high reagent stability, assuring a long shelf-life for the product. The presence of the RNAase results in enzymatic digestion of any double stranded RNA, allowing specific staining of cellular DNA content.

In addition, in the reconstitution buffer there are cell permeabilizing substances and DNA stabilizers, to prevent the nucleic acid debris formation.
