Alfredo Ventola - General and R&D Manager

After graduating in Biology, he qualified first as a practising biologist and then obtained a postgraduate doctoral research degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Bari. His professional experience includes the coordination of research & development and production operations in various biotechnology firms, among which Bio D S.r.l., IMA S.r.l., Bio Analitika S.r.l. and the CNR spin off Mediteknology S.r.l. He has also collaborated with several research centres and, in particular, with the INFM National Nanotechnology Laboratory (NNL) in Lecce, the CNR Institute of Organic Synthesis and Photoreactivity (ISOF) in Bologna and the EBRI Foundation in Rome. He joined ACZON in 2005 and currently serves as Quality Assurance, R&D and General Manager.

Chiara Barattini - Product Manager

Dr. Barattini graduated with honors in Medical Biotechnology, with honours, from the University of Bologna in 2010. Her degree thesis, prepared at the Molecular Oncologic and Transplant Pathology Laboratory (Policlinico Sant’Orsola Malpighi, Bologna), concerned the study of an immunohistochemical and cytogenetic algorithm for the differential diagnosis of kidney tumours, under the supervision of Dr. Michelangelo Fiorentino. In 2011, she qualified to practice as a biologist. She joined AcZon in 2010, and currently holds the position of Chief Operating Officer and Sales & Marketing Manager.

Angela Volpe - Operations Manager

In March 2013, she received, with honors, master's degree in Medical Biotechnology at University of Bologna. She studied for a year at Policlinico S. Orsola Malpighi, in the exploration of functional gastrointestinal laboratory, where she worked with Prof. R. De Giorgio and his team. During this period she worked on her experimental thesis, which had as its object the development of an alternative therapy for the treatment of mitochondrial disease MNGIE. She looked also to study the correlation between changes in the Enteric Nervous System and Parkinson's disease. Since June 2013 she began her experience at AcZon, working on the European FP7 project, for the characterisation of CTC (FP7 project CTCtrap). She is now the operations manager of AcZon.
